| Life |
[Dec. 5th, 2007|08:37 am] |
hasn't been so bad lately. Actually, it's been quite nice. I didn't get to see the Spice Girls show and that was a bummer, but I've decided that dwelling on the bad isn't going to help me.
I started working at Apple, it seems very fun and happy. School's almost up, and I've decided to go into finance and not medicine. I'm still contemplating finishing the chemistry degree I've started, but at this point, a minor would suffice.
There's a whole bunch of stuff I thought I should throw onto the computer, but that will have to wait until later.
This is all part of my new positive outlook on life... let's see how that goes. |

I spent the weekend down in San Jose and it makes me wonder what the fuck I'm doing up here when such great people are down there. |

| Death, or something like it |
[Sep. 18th, 2007|02:58 pm] |
It seems as though a slew of people I know have died in the past few weeks. I suppose it should worry me or make me reflect on my own life and how I should make it better, but somehow, I feel like it makes me more vain as a person.
I shouldn't change my life because it cold end at any moment. If I did, it would, in my eyes, make me feel like there's a timeline on my life--that when I finish my "to-do" list of sorts, then it's all over and I can die happy. I don't want to think that way. I don't want to feel like I have to accomplish certain things before I go. I don't want to have those deadlines. I want to die knowing I lived the way I wanted to and that I didn't put pressure on myself to rush anything.
I have to do homework now. |

| Culture, where have you gone? |
[Sep. 9th, 2007|10:21 pm] |
I don't feel like writing some long dichotomy of culture now in relation to that 15 years ago, but I find it safe to say the youth of today are sorely lacking. I'm sure that those older than me will state the same thing when it comes to a comparison with my youth, but honestly, everything is so bland and focused on technology now.
I haven't watched much MTV in a long, long time, but I decided to settle down and catch the awards show that was on tonight. What happened to popular culture? Why is entertainment based on controversy, anger, and jealousy? Why is everything based on the computer? Linked to some form of lassoed communication?
Kids today (for the most part) are not allowed to go out and play in the streets for fear of kidnapping or careless drivers. It seems that life has shifted from working to enjoy one's self to working to make money... and the money one makes is never enough.
I don't know if I make any sense, but I'm very unhappy with what I'm welcomed with right now. Maybe it's just life in California. Maybe it's totally different in another state (or even another country). Or maybe it's just the influence of the information age negatively affecting our way of life. Hmm. |

| Writer's Block: Who's in your neighborhood |
[Jul. 18th, 2007|04:57 pm] |
How well do you know your next-door neighbors?
Oh, livejournal, thank you for bringing this up. I don't know much about my neighbors other than the fact that Bob next door is an avid porn collector. The mailman accidentally delivered a porno purchase book thingamabobber to my house once and (LUCKY ME!) I got the mail that day. |

I just put in my deposit to SCU. Looks like I'm a student there now. I would be more happy if I wasn't mulling over the labs and exam I have to study for by Monday.
I wish there was hockey... or a baseball team that didn't make me cry on the inside.
And OMG I passed physics and Calc. Yes, the grades were really bad, but they weren't Ds or Fs. Jesus! |

| 2 more years |
[Jun. 19th, 2007|02:35 pm] |
two more years of reading and writing and BSing before I have a degree. After two more years, I'll have a Master's degree. Four years later, I'll hold a doctorate of medicine. Three more years and I'll have my residency done.
$250,000 later and I'll be making money. Eyes on the prize... I'll have to keep saying that to myself. |

I love that One Tree Hill endorses high school pregnancy. And high school marriage. And it glorifies depression. And high school violence. |

I'm tempted to say that my roommate really shouldn't have a dog. IT'S BEEN TWO MONTHS AND SHE HASN'T HOUSEBROKEN THE FUCKING PET. Actually, she takes him out once a day (if that) and expects him to learn that way. Then, she leaves a pee pad out for him to urinate and shit on...and she doesn't clean up after him if all he does is urinate.
The living room smells sooooooo bad and I've been going home every fucking weekend because I can't stand that stupid ass dog. In fact, I've resigned myself to my room because I can't stand the odor of that fucking canine.
One day, she she "does this place stink?" I wanted to reply, "yes, you fucking retard, it does. Your dog smells like ass and the living room smells of urine because your lazy ass won't take the fucking time to housetrain your fucking pet, you fucking idiot. You need to get rid of your fucking dog before I get rid of him for you, you fucking idiot." I think repetition of certain phrases is important for clarity. |

[Jun. 3rd, 2007|01:25 pm] |
I cut up a chili pepper and forgot to wash my hands. Twenty minutes later, my nose felt itchy so i scratched it. My nose starts burning. Stupid.
Later my eye itches so I rub it. OMG SO STUPID. |

"Don't go into the Sharkie locker room. You'll leave with a groin injury. Hannan. Guerin. Smitty. Tosko. Was Goc hit by the groin bug, too? I remember him being out for 2 games. Davison was out for a good while, too, but I think they just used that as excuse to keep an active roster spot open."
I wrote that last month, and I forgot to add Cheech to the mix. What happened to all of them (well, the first four + Cheech) ? SPORTS HERNIAS. So awesomely bad. Fuckin' Mike Potenza develops the entire training regimen around the core, and lots of people are saying the training regimen they're taking is a big problem. Oops, Mikey. |

BTW I'm enamored with the idea of getting my Master's in Canada. Someone needs to talk me out of it before I actually do it. |
